The Portmor is a vibrant, 200 - 300 seat restaurant offering modern dining, inspired by local produce. With a stunning newly refurbished space and a fresh menu concept, we're building an exceptional team from the ground up. The Role
We're looking for an experienced, passionate
Chef
to join our growing kitchen team. You'll play a key role in food preparation, service, and maintaining high kitchen standards, working closely with our Head Chef and wider team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard during busy service periods Assist in menu development and dish costing where required Maintain stock control and ordering Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are consistently met Support other staff and contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture Work collaboratively with FOH and management to maintain smooth service Adhere to all company policies, including allergen awareness and HACCP compliance
Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen (restaurant, bistro, or hotel setting) Strong knowledge of fresh, seasonal ingredients and modern cooking techniques Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to perform under pressure and maintain attention to detail Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher preferred) Flexibility to work Thursday - Sunday
