Term time only role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to support our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will work alongside the Catering Manager. They will need to have strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for creating innovative menus. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for fine dining and excellent service.

Responsibilities



Develop and plan diverse menus that align with restaurant standards and customer preferences Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other culinary team members Oversee food preparation, ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality standards are met Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and sanitation standards Lead shift management by organizing kitchen workflow during service hours Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless food service delivery Monitor food costs and manage budgets effectively Train new staff members on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and customer service expectations Participate in catering events and special functions as needed

Skills



Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in fine dining and catering environments Proven leadership and team management abilities within a fast-paced kitchen setting Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing shifts effectively Knowledge of menu planning, food production, and food service management Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices Excellent skills in inventory management and control Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff Experience with dietary department requirements and special dietary needs management Background in banquet experience, restaurant management, or hospitality is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.50 per hour
