Duties

Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Manage inventory and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and of high quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to strict food safety regulations. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods. Develop new menu items and specials that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen protocols. Monitor portion sizes and presentation of dishes before serving to maintain consistency.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry. Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and cooking techniques. Supervising experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen. Excellent leadership skills with a focus on team management and development. Previous experience in hospitality is highly desirable, showcasing an understanding of customer service excellence. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for food, creativity in menu development, and an eagerness to learn new culinary skills.
