Responsibilities
Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold high standards of food quality and presentation
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and excellence in all dishes served
Manage food production schedules to meet customer demand while minimising waste
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen
Develop new menu items in collaboration with the management team, incorporating current culinary trends and customer preferences
Monitor inventory levels, place orders for supplies, and manage stock control efficiently
Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
Maintain a positive team environment through effective leadership, motivation, and communication skills
Requirements
Proven experience in a culinary or restaurant setting, with a strong background in food preparation and cooking
Supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment is highly desirable
Demonstrable expertise in food safety standards and hygiene practices
Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff members
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Knowledge of current culinary trends and innovative menu development techniques
Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is essential; prior leadership roles preferred
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business operations
