Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, considering current culinary trends and customer preferences
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock efficiently to minimise waste
Assist in food production during busy periods to ensure timely service
Provide excellent service by supporting serving staff when necessary and ensuring customer satisfaction
Skills
Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant environment
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Exceptional culinary skills with an eye for detail in presentation and flavour balance
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Leadership qualities with the capacity to inspire teamwork and maintain a positive working environment
Experience in menu development, food innovation, and cost control strategies
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
Knowledge of hospitality industry standards related to serving customers efficiently
