Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with restaurant standards and customer preferences. Supervise kitchen staff, including training and mentoring team members to ensure efficient workflow. Manage food production processes, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency across all menu items. Oversee food safety procedures, including hygiene standards and proper storage of ingredients. Coordinate with suppliers for ingredient procurement and inventory management. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques. Serve dishes to guests when required, ensuring excellent customer service.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting. Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices. Excellent team management skills, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and suppliers. Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development. Experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is highly desirable.
