An exciting opportunity to join a professional team within a busy independent cafe. The Wentworth Cafe is a popular and growing local business with an excellent reputation for quality and service. We serve a full breakfast, brunch and lunch menu as well as a range of cakes & bakes - all with fresh produce and prepared to order.

As a Chef at The Wentworth, you will receive a full-time permanent contract with guaranteed minimum hours, daytime shifts, and two days off per week. Combined with the support of your kitchen and front-of-house colleagues, this position will allow you to establish a truly healthy work-life balance.

Requirements:

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with the FOH team. Exceptional organizational abilities coupled with effective time management skills. Knowledge of cooking processes, techniques and their application. Experience within professional kitchen. Diligence in maintaining hygiene, quality, and productivity standards. Positive attitude. Understanding of food safety regulations and adherence to best practices.

Responsibilities:

Be involved in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and excellence. Be able to support the other chefs during service. Establish clear communication channels with the FOH team to facilitate smooth service. Uphold efficiency standards both during service hours and in preparation tasks. Complete preparation and cleaning tasks. Ensure rigorous adherence to kitchen hygiene standards for a pristine work environment. Effectively manage stock levels.
