We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team. At Y Barbican we are known for using fresh local produce as much as possible and creating amazing food. We specialise in brunch and lunch and will be pushing into sunday lunch also

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient food production and service Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their culinary skills Manage inventory, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, following health and safety regulations Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen operations Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment Strong culinary skills with a solid understanding of food preparation techniques Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards Strong communication skills to interact with staff and guests professionally A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes

Pay: 12.50-14.50 per hour
