We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience, demonstrate strong leadership qualities, and have a keen eye for food safety and presentation. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring all food safety standards are met.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service delivery
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Oversee food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times
Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferences
Organize and prepare staff Rota's to ensure that the kitchen is sufficiently and cost effectively staffed
Requirements
Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Supervising experience with team management skills
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food production processes
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and management
Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development
Previous experience in serving customers or front-of-house roles is advantageous but not essential
