Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste
Train and mentor junior staff in culinary techniques, safety practices, and customer service
Collaborate with management to develop new menu items that meet customer preferences and seasonal trends
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, equipment, and utensils at all times
Serve dishes to customers when required, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
Monitor food quality during service to guarantee consistency across all dishes
Requirements
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
Supervising experience with a track record of managing teams effectively
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Experience in menu development and inventory management is desirable
Previous hospitality or restaurant experience is essential for understanding customer service expectations
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
