Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef to join our team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation and cooking of a wide range of dishes including small plates, focaccia sandwiches, and our signature deep dish Detroit pizzas. Located on the vibrant Bold Street our menu caters to those stopping by for a quick bite to eat, as well as those looking for a nice evening meal before the night begins. If you have a passion for cooking, working in a fast paced environment and creating delicious dishes that our guests will enjoy every time, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing ingredients, sauces and dishes throughout the week, replenishing stock as needed.
- Completing food orders effectively and consistently to a high standard.
- Working alongside other staff (kitchen, front of house, and management) in a friendly and productive manner to ensure the efficacy of the kitchen's role in a customers experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen; stock, equipment, and work spaces.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Inventory management, communicating with staff and management in relation to stock levels.
- Opening the kitchen to ensure all requirements of the days service can be met.
- Closing the kitchen effectively and cleanly in preparation for the next day.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of various dishes and preparation techniques.
- Capability to learn food specifications for consistency across all dishes prepared, including seasonal menu specials.
- Time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Hospitality mindset with a focus on providing exceptional service.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively and confidently with colleagues.
- Previous experience working in a restaurant kitchen is preferred, but not required.
