Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to head our culinary team at our 35 bedroom hotel. The ideal candidate will have extensive kitchen experience and a strong background in food production and preparation. This role requires excellent leadership and team management skills to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Chef will be responsible for creating delicious dishes that delight our guests, contributing to an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and communication Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality Develop and design menus that reflect current culinary trends while considering guest preferences Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to ensure efficient kitchen operations Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management Extensive knowledge of food production techniques and food safety regulations Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes Previous experience in hospitality is highly desirable Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
