Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service
Oversee all aspects of food production, including cooking, plating, and presentation
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, considering current trends and customer preferences
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs effectively
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
Ensure all dishes meet quality standards before serving
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and optimise guest satisfaction
Monitor cleanliness of the kitchen environment and ensure compliance with health & safety policies
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
Demonstrable supervising experience with team management capabilities
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and motivate staff to achieve high standards
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Experience in menu development and culinary innovation is highly desirable
Knowledge of food production processes and serving techniques
Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment while ensuring attention to detail
