We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead the kitchen in a fantastic South East London restaurant. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food preparation and kitchen management to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an opportunity to help the Executive chef oversee menu planning, consistently maintaining high standards of food safety, and helping to manage the daily running of the cafe to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with a focus on quality, presentation, and consistency
Supervise kitchen staff
Oversee inventory control and food production processes to minimize waste and ensure efficient use of resources
Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless food service during shifts
Oversee the occasional catering event/ special function
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with health codes and safety regulations
Skills
Culinary experience with a strong background in high-end brunch/lunch service is a plus
Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing teams effectively
Knowledge of inventory management, inventory control, and food handling procedures
Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
Familiarity with hospitality industry practices including restaurant experience and kitchen management
