As a member of the catering team, you should carry out your role to support the needs of the students you work with and the School in general. To be responsible for catering requirements for the full time boarding community as well as meals for our Nursery, Prep and Senior School pupils, who order food on a daily basis.
Main Responsibilities
Designing nutritionally balanced 3 weekly menus on a termly basis
Preparation, cooking and service of meals.
To have financial accountability of achieving budgeted food costs
Ordering of food as required.
Paperwork and SFBB record completion
Cleaning down the kitchen each day.
Support all aspects of production and presentation of service, having regard for delivering high standards of health and safety, hygiene, nutritional value and allergen control and ensure non-compliance is reported in your kitchen to the Head of Boarding/Operational Manager.
Restock items needed throughout the shift.
Recording food temperatures.
Comply with all hygiene regulations.
Undertake any training in line with school compliance
Supervising and developing kitchen staff
Reporting any maintenance issues to the Operational Manager/Maintenance Team.
Attend staff meetings as required
To be familiar with and work in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines relating to the Boarding House and School.
Undertaking any other reasonable duties to help facilitate the smooth running of the Boarding House catering services.
If required, undertake regulated activity, such as unsupervised contact with children, ensuring that safeguarding procedures are followed by providing safe and effective care at all times.
The proposed hours of work are 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday, but these can be negotiated to best suit the needs of the school. The role is year round with 4 weeks paid holiday a year. The wage for the role is dependent on the candidates experience.
The successful applicant must have a right to work in the UK and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
