Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to become our new Chef Manager at one of our workplace restaurants in Solihull B90.

Do you love creating stunning restaurant food and are looking for work hours that give you a work-life balance like no other sector in the hospitality industry?

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

Our culture unites us. We stand for craft, quality, creative freedom, forward thinking and integrity. We never compromise on our commitment to fresh, seasonal produce and the fantastic people that make it all happen!

Core hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, 40 hours a week. Some flexibility required, including occasional evening events (with paid overtime agreed in advance).

You'll be catering for around 200 staff daily, offering freshly prepared hot lunches, a deli bar, salad bar, soups, and baked goods - with daily vegetarian and vegan options. You'll have full autonomy to create your own menus while managing food costs.

You'll also deliver occasional hospitality, including breakfasts, fine dining, BBQs, canapes, and working lunches. In addition, you'll help run fun, monthly cooking classes for staff - from bread making to festive treats and wine & cheese tastings. The cookery classes are normally run from 5-30-7.30, which will be covered by overtime

You'll lead a team of six, including two hospitality staff. As Chef Manager, you'll ensure smooth coordination across the kitchen, coffee bar, and meeting room services. A big part of the role is engaging with staff during service, so you'll need to be approachable, well-presented, and service-focused.

On this site you will benefit from free on-site parking, complimentary meal during your shift, access to an on-site gym and great work-life balance.
