Duties
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative team environment
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, considering current trends and customer preferences
Maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times in compliance with food safety standards
Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence
Assist in training junior staff members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and service standards
Serve dishes to guests when required, providing excellent customer service and addressing any special dietary needs
Skills
Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Excellent culinary skills with a flair for innovative dish creation
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and the ability to delegate responsibilities appropriately
Experience in food preparation, serving, and delivering exceptional customer service
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
Familiarity with restaurant operations, including stock control, menu planning, and staff scheduling
