Overview

We are seeking a Chef to join our small family run bar/restaurant . This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage food production, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will be instrumental in creating innovative menus, supervising younger kitchen staff, and maintaining a welcoming environment for both colleagues and guests.

We are looking for someone who wants a couple days a week or full time, both positions are available.

Duties

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service Oversee all aspects of food production, including cooking, plating, and presentation Develop and implement creative menus that meet quality standards and customer preferences Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise resources Train and mentor junior staff to foster a cohesive team environment Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service experiences Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold brand standards Assist in the recruitment process for new kitchen staff as required

Requirements

Proven experience in a role within a kitchen environment Background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary arts Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments A genuine passion for culinary innovation and delivering outstanding guest experiences
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
