We'relooking for a talented and organised Chef to join our catering teamat Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital, working in partnershipwith Sodexo. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a professionalkitchen delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to patients, staff, andvisitors in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What You'll Do

  • Prepare and cook meals following Sodexo's internal recipe system to exact specifications.
  • Maintain high food hygiene and safety standards, completing all HACCP, COSHH, and temperature records.
  • Order provisions in line with Sodexo policy and manage stock efficiently.
  • Keep all kitchen and service areas clean, tidy, and well maintained, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Complete all required Sodexo documentation and app-based checks (cleaning rotas, SMS, allergen reports, etc.).
  • Plan menus, manage allergens, and print weekly allergy reports.
  • Lead by example - ensuring recipes and specifications are consistently followed.
  • Support team training through Sodexo's GREAT training and competency checks.
  • Communicate effectively with your team via daily huddles and meetings.
  • Assist with rota planning, cashing up, billing, and compliance with Sodexo trading procedures.
  • Support weekend or special function cover as required.
What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 Food Safety Certificate (essential)
  • FSA Allergy Trained
  • Health & Safety Management knowledge
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to deliver on time
  • Experience leading a small kitchen team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Competent computer skills (Microsoft Office, apps, and digital systems)
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced catering or healthcare kitchen
