Job Description

Down Town Cafe is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef Supervisor to join our kitchen team on a temporary basis covering maternity leave. As Chef Supervisor, you will take a hands-on role in the kitchen overseeing daily operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of food.

You will lead by example, supporting volunteers and maintaining high standards in food safety, cleanliness, and customer service. You will work closely with the Community Grocery and BFCiC Foodbank to source food, decide what to prep and ultimately reduce food waste in the town. Your duties will include menu planning, stock rotation and staffing rotas.

Possession of a NVQ level 2 qualification in food preparation and cooking (or similar qualification) is essential as is possession of a level 2 food hygiene and safety qualification. It is also essential you have previous experience of food preparation and service.

Experience of supervising and developing a team is also essential.

A flexible attitude is essential as the post will include working unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Pay: From 23,671.00 per year
