Ark Outside London Support Scale 5, Pay Points 5 - 12: 24,790 to 27,711 (pro rata)


Actual Starting Salary:

23,974.41. Pay is spread evenly over 12 months, this does not include the cost of living increase set by the Government for 2025-26.


Hours:

38.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year: 7.00am - 3.45pm Mon to Fri (this includes a 1 hour or 2 x 30-minute unpaid breaks each day)

This is a rare opportunity to join our hard-working, dedicated catering team in our growing academy. As Chef Supervisor you will be based at one of our two campuses under the direction of our Chef Manager. This is a term time only position, which means you will only work 39 weeks of the year, plus two extra weeks in the school holidays as directed by your manager. Pay is spread evenly over the year so you would never have a month without money.



As the Chef Supervisor you will prepare, cook, and present food which meets the school standards and according to the Chef Manager's direction. You will also be responsible for supervising the catering team and ensure high levels of food preparation and kitchen cleanliness is maintained across all kitchen and dining areas as well as ensuring a high standard of catering service is provided.



Our standards are high and meals are prepared daily from fresh ingredients. We need someone who can work quickly and safely, be part of a team and has the confidence to interact with staff and students.

As the ideal candidate you will:




+ Have experience of working in a busy kitchen
+ Have a resilient character and a strong personal drive
+ Be able to take ownership of tasks and complete to a high standard
+ Have a health & safety and/or food hygiene qualification but it's not essential
+ Be a team player that can work collaboratively as well as using your own initiative
+ Be flexible in covering other team members when required, even if it's on the other campus
+ Be calm and professional under pressure with the ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
+ Have a flexible attitude towards work
