Chef Supervisor

Job Description

: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a chef supervisor at our bustling fish and chip shop. As the chef supervisor, you will play a key role in assisting the shop management team in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Your exceptional leadership skills, industry knowledge and dedication to quality will contribute to the success of our business.

Responsibilities:

1. Operational Support:

Assist the shop manager in managing day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards. Collaborate with the kitchen and front of house staff to ensure efficient food preparation, quality control, and timely order delivery.
2. Customer Service:

Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional service and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Supervise the front of house team ensuring orders are processed in a timely manner Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and resolve them to customer satisfaction. Train and supervise staff members on customer service protocols, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment for all customers.
3. Staff Management:

Assist in training staff members. Provide guidance and support to team members, creating a positive work culture and promoting teamwork.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance:

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop, including the till area, serving area, kitchen and storage areas. Ensure adherence to cleaning and maintenance schedules and procedures. Report any maintenance issues promptly to management.
Skills and Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role within the food service industry, preferably in a fish and chip shop or fast-food establishment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team effectively. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to resolve customer issues in a professional and timely manner. Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

Plympton PL7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 01/09/2025
