Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team at Fallow and fields Kitchen, up at Lopemede farm, The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, and a strong background in kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen staff, and ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining our standards of food safety and exceptional service. Whilst help the day to day running of the kitchen.

we specialise in cooking Wagyu beef that's reared on the farm with fresh seasonal vegetarian specials.

Duties

Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and hygiene standards Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations Train and mentor junior team members to develop their culinary skills and knowledge Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times Assist in menu planning and development to reflect current trends and customer preferences

Requirements

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings Strong skills in food production, preparation, cooking, and presentation Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff Previous experience in restaurant or catering environments is highly desirable A passion for culinary excellence and delivering outstanding customer experiences
Job Types: Part-time, Temp to perm, Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.39-18.07 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 30 per week
