We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to lead our culinary team in a busy kitchen. Has a passion for using our home produced beef and lamb and other locally sourced produce. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. We have a Farm shop cafe/restaurant that is open 7 days a week. The ideal person would be working in the kitchen during service and be able to train staff, oversee prep work carry out all essential record keeping and bring ideas to the table.
Duties
Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food production
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards using our home produced meat & locally sourced ingredients.
Manage food safety protocols, including hygiene practices, storage procedures, and sanitation standards
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and ensure consistency in food quality
Collaborate with management to design menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Ensure excellent customer service by supporting serving staff when necessary
Qualifications
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
Supervising experience with a track record of team management and leadership
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Exceptional communication skills to motivate team members and liaise effectively with management
Creative flair for menu development and presentation of dishes
Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant roles is highly desirable
A passion for culinary arts coupled with a commitment to delivering outstanding dining experiences
