About the Role
As a
Chef
, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering delicious and well-balanced meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences. You will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including stock control, staff supervision, and compliance with food safety regulations. The role requires creativity, organisation, and the ability to lead by example.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and prepare nutritious, appetising daily menus.
Cook and present meals to a high standard while adhering to budget requirements.
Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and order supplies.
Ensure food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards are always maintained.
Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen areas and equipment.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Build positive relationships with residents and respond to feedback with professionalism and care.
Skills and Attributes
Proven experience as a Chef, ideally within a healthcare or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with knowledge of diverse cooking methods.
Understanding of nutrition and ability to design balanced menus.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Good understanding of health and safety and food hygiene regulations.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
Education and Qualifications
Food Hygiene Certificate - Level 2 (or willingness to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene).
First Aid Certification.
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation and Catering (or equivalent).
