Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Chef or Cook to join our kitchen team until Christmas For the right candidate there will be opportunities in 2026. This person will have a good practical knowledge of food preparation, and kitchen management. You will work with a team to create delicious dishes that delight our guests while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Duties

Contribute to all aspects of food preparation in the kitchen, ensuring consistently high-quality standards are met. Contribute ideas to the design of new menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and leadership to ensure efficient operations and teamwork. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock levels. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction. Implement cost control measures while maintaining quality standards in food production.

Requirements

Experience as a Chef or Cook in a cafe, restaurant or similar hospitality environment. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations. The ability to work within a team effectively. Experience in supervising kitchen operations and training staff is desirable but not essential. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively within the kitchen setting. A passion for cooking and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences for guests.

The Apple Tree Kitchen is open from mid February until Christmas (closure period throughout January and part of February).

Full or part time hours available

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
