We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary excellence and a strong background in food production and preparation. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and leading a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

the starting salary is 30,000 per year plus service charge with a minimum of 5000 wage top up

Responsibilities

Support the head chef

Supervise and manage kitchen staff. When the head chef is off providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards. Maintain food safety protocols and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations. Collaborate with the management team to develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends. Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food presentation, and kitchen best practices. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Ensure the kitchen is organised, clean, and well-maintained at all times. Assist in serving meals during peak hours to ensure timely service for guests.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry. Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff. Extensive knowledge of food production techniques, cooking methods, and culinary trends. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A passion for cooking with a creative flair for developing new dishes. Previous experience in a high-volume kitchen setting is preferred.
