We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a chef/baker at Potarch Cafe. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and baking, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety. This is a dynamic role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being part of a team that delivers excellent service. Responsibilities.

Prepare and cook brunch menu items to order, maintaining high standards of food presentation and quality Assist in the production of baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch. Managing kitchen prep and service efficiently Ensuring food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene are always top priority Working closely with the cafe team and contributing to menu ideas Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages or needs. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Requirements

Minimum 6 - 12 months experience in a cafe or similar professional kitchen environment Confidence with brunch service and baking Strong culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and baking methods. A creative, positive, and can-do attitude Driver's license (or the ability to reliably commute) Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in handling food products. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, showcasing the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food preparation. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when required
