Job Overview

We are looking for a passionate and talented chef or cook to help assist our growing kitchen team in creating fresh and highly reputable food for our busy Cafe. We need someone who can work within a small fast-paced team in preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes,. It will be important you have experience in a kitchen, as well as food hygiene. It is a great opportunity to give your ideas and to work in an new and expanding kitchen.

16-30 hours available

Thursday- Monday 8am-5pm

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and best practices. Oversee kitchen operations, including managing kitchen staff and coordinating meal preparation. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chef or cook in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen and front-of-house teams. A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
