Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our Deli kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with the ability to create delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Oversee food preparation processes to ensure quality and consistency in every dish served. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times. Collaborate with staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Assist in menu planning, including the selection of seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities. A creative flair for developing new recipes and menu items is highly desirable. Previous experience serving customers in a dining setting is an advantage.
