Overview

We are seeking a talented and reliable Chef or Cook to prepare either Bar Snacks or a full restaurant menu . The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a real passion for the industry. This role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene while delivering exceptional dining experiences. The premises will serve food each Friday & Saturday 4-8pm and Sunday 2-8pm however these hours are negotiable and we would be keen to open on a Thursday evening also if the right candidate came along and wanted more hours!

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation standards. Assist in the development of new menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and best practices. Serve meals to guests, ensuring an exceptional dining experience through attentive service.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment. Strong culinary skills with a passion for food preparation and cooking. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential. Previous kitchen experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity in meal preparation techniques. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. A creative mindset with the ability to contribute to menu development. Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
