To manage and operate the Club kitchen during the fixed?term period, ensuring the efficient preparation and service of meals for members and guests. The kitchen provides meals
Tuesday to Friday evenings, monthly Sunday lunches, and occasional weekend or event catering
. The role supports a members?only Bar and Restaurant with an outdoor balcony.
This position
requires flexibility
to meet seasonal demand, support special events, and work collaboratively with the Bar & Hospitality Supervisor to deliver smooth and coordinated service.
Main Objectives
Prepare and deliver high?quality meals promptly and efficiently.
Plan menus, accurately cost dishes, and achieve agreed gross profit (GP) targets.
Manage stock ordering, supplier relationships, and delivery checks to maximise value and minimise waste.
Maintain full compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Health regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Food Production & Service
Prepare, cook, and present meals to a consistently high standard.
Develop menus appropriate for members, seasonal demand, and budget requirements.
Ensure prompt service during evening meals, Sunday lunches, and Club events.
Stock, Ordering & Cost Control
Order supplies and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality and value.
Maintain accurate stock records and complete monthly stock takes to support the Honorary Treasurer and bookkeeper.
Monitor expenditure and work within agreed budgets, minimising waste wherever possible.
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and Environmental Health standards are met.
Maintain up?to?date monitoring records (e.g., temperature logs, cleaning schedules).
Carry out regular deep cleaning of the kitchen and ensure equipment is maintained in safe working order.
Work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act at all times.
Teamwork & Communication
Liaise closely with the Bar & Hospitality Supervisor to coordinate service and staffing.
Support Club functions and member?requested events in collaboration with the Bar & Catering Committee and Events Manager.
Work effectively with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth service and a positive member experience.
Assist with training and development of staff and volunteers involved in kitchen operations.
Additional Expectations
Flexibility to work additional hours for Sunday lunches, special events, or seasonal peaks.
A proactive approach to maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and member satisfaction.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 months
Pay: From 15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
