We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that delight our residents while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Oversee meal preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet our standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive working environment.

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting. Strong culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking techniques. Previous care home experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations. Knowledge of food fortification. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members effectively.
