The Bull, Whitwell forms part of a locally owned pub group, well renowned in North Hertfordshire, Fishermann Pub Group. Our pubs are all unique and the food offer is critical to our ongoing success as well as a diverse drinks range, large outdoor drinking and dining areas, regular entertainment and above all great customer service.
We are seeking an experienced Chef/Cook to step into the already successful kitchen. Reporting to the General Manager you will support the successful delivery of a freshly cooked menu available 7 days a week including daily specials, events and Sunday roasts. You will help with menu development, H&S management and team training.
As an experienced Chef/Cook you will bring:
At least 1 year of experience as a Cook
Level 1 and 2 Food Safety
Level 2 Health & Safety
Awareness of manual handling techniques and COSHH regulations
Experience working with fresh ingredients
Positive energy and personality
Passion for food and drink.
Attention to detail and excellent standards in food preparation and presentation
Calmness and a can do attitude in a busy work environment
Teamwork to motivate and drive the existing team to deliver the food budget
Great communication with every team member
Proven ability to act as a role model demonstrating a positive approach to team morale and development
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Understanding of budgets and GPs
Excellent command of English with the ability to communicate confidently
Proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and preferably your own car and driving licence as the village is not well serviced by public transport.
