Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to the menu and recipes provided
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient service
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining experience for customers
- Assist in the development of new menu items and specials
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or needs to management

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a Care Home or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Skills:
- Meal preparation: Ability to prepare a variety of dishes from scratch using fresh ingredients
- Culinary: Proficient in various cooking techniques, including sauteing, grilling, baking, etc.
- Kitchen: Familiarity with kitchen equipment, utensils, and tools used in food preparation
- Food safety: Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Restaurant: Understanding of restaurant operations and customer service principles
- Cook: Experience in cooking different types of cuisine and creating flavorful dishes
- Food preparation: Skill in prepping ingredients, measuring quantities, and following recipes accurately

-Experience of the IDDSI guidelines and preparing food for the elderly.
