Family run care home in Burntisland, Fife (commutable from Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy or Dunfermline) seeking full-time Chef/Cook to join our team, cooking for 24 elderly residents with dementia.

Summary

We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team at Carrick Care Family. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs of our clients, ensuring a high standard of food quality and safety. Your culinary expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the overall well-being of those in our care.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality meals that meet nutritional guidelines. Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to in the kitchen. Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily kitchen operations. Plan menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area. Collaborate with care staff to understand client needs and preferences. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food preparation. Ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Good communication skills to interact with staff and clients. Experience in menu planning is a plus.
