We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that delight our guests while maintaining the highest quality in our kitchen operations. Necessary training will be provided. Requirement is to start immediate.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Necessary briefing and training will be on the dishes in our current menu
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
Oversee kitchen staff during meal preparation and cooking processes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
Collaborate with other kitchen/preparation and front house staff to ensure timely meal service.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as necessary.
Create new menu items and specials that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Adhere to the recent food and hygiene, health and safetly regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a restaurant setting.
Cooking and preparing Indian cusine will be advantageous.
Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Previous experience in serving or front-of-house roles is advantageous.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for creating 'innovative' high-quality dishes that meet customer expectations.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the restaurant's schedule.
