The Ferry House Inn is a family-owned riverside Inn, bed & breakfast, restaurant and bar. We serve traditional, homemade pub food, fresh fish and the finest real ales.

The Ferry House Inn is looking for an enthusiastic; hard-working and creative chef/cook to join our kitchen team.

The successful candidate will work alongside our busy kitchen team, in a family-style environment preparing dishes from locally sourced produce for seasonal menus for our restaurant; lounge and outside summer dining operation. You will be responsible for the preparation and service of food to a high quality.

Applicants should have a real passion for delivering exceptional home-cooked dishes in a time-pressured environment, whilst maintaining the highest standards of hygiene in line with EHO requirements along with all orders, stock and margin control.

Main Duties:

Ensure the highest standards of food quality are achieved and in timely delivery to the guest. Ensure that standards of product preparation and quality are adhered to and delivered on a consistent basis. Ensure effective stock rotation and management to minimise waste. Assist in developing the more junior members of the Kitchen by providing on the job training and coaching to enhance their skill level and knowledge. Deliver ad-hoc tasks as requested.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential. You will need to be confident, approachable and have a can-do attitude; you will need to be capable of using your own initiative and making decisions when needed.
