We are seeking a talented and passionate Cook/Chef to work for an established Nursery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a flair for creating exceptional dishes that delight our guests. As a Chef, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation while leading and supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of food production, ensuring that dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and providing guidance as needed.
Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends while adhering to food safety regulations.
Ensure proper food preparation techniques are followed, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation across all dishes.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Train new kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety standards.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in both food production and kitchen management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new recipes and menu items.
Previous experience in supervising kitchen operations is highly desirable.
