We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef/cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As a Chef, you will play a crucial role in delivering canteen style food and Sunday carvery to a standard that meet our guests' expectations while adhering to food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards. Ensure all food is prepared with attention to detail, presentation, and flavour. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor food inventory levels, assisting with ordering supplies as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices. Participate in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and cuisines. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in the kitchen. Previous experience in meal preparation and serving is advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new techniques and recipes.
