Chef / Cook

to join our growing cafe team at

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, freshly cooked meals, including our popular daily specials. The role includes:

Preparing fresh, homemade food daily
Creating and cooking daily specials using quality ingredients
Managing kitchen stock levels and placing orders as required
Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety
Ensuring all food is prepared and stored in line with regulations
Supporting menu development and seasonal dishes
Working efficiently during busy service periods

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with food safety regulations Assist in meal planning and portion control to minimise waste Monitor stock levels and communicate needs for ingredient replenishment Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines at all times Serve food efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Experience in restaurant or catering environments is highly desirable Flexibility to adapt to different cuisines and menu requirements Previous experience in serving customers is advantageous but not essential This role offers an engaging environment for culinary professionals eager to develop their skills further while delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 12.21-16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 35 per week
