Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to food safety. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals that delight our guests while ensuring the highest standards of kitchen operations. This will suit someone wanting two days a week to include some Sundays and also holiday and Sickness cover.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Oversee meal preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet our high standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service times. Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where possible. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as necessary. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and food safety practices. Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.

Experience

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment is essential, with prior restaurant experience preferred. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. A passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences for guests is highly desirable.
