Responsibilities
Assist in preparing a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes and quality standards
Supervise junior kitchen staff and ensure smooth teamwork during service
Manage food production processes, including portioning, plating, and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Support the development of new menu items alongside the head chef
Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly adhered to at all times
Oversee stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimise waste
Help train new staff members in food preparation and safety procedures
Serve food to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service standards are met
Qualifications
Proven experience in a professional kitchen setting, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality environment
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary principles
Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour suitable for team collaboration and customer interaction
Previous experience in food production, serving, or restaurant operations is advantageous
