Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chemical Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that chemical operations are conducted safely and efficiently.

The shift pattern covers 7 days per week on 12 hour days & nights.

Duties

Controlling plant production rates to meet sales demand forecasts while maintaining minimum agreed stock levels Regular reviews of plant operating conditions and adjustment of process variables when necessary Maintenance of plant records for inspection and review Controlling production and packaging of finished product to customer specifications Operation of all relevant processes within the boundaries of the IPPC permit Prevention of identified major accident hazards by the following control measures within your area of responsibility by following information provided in the form of:
o Standard Operating Procedures

o Method Statements for activities not covered by SOP's

o Risk Assessments

o COSHH Assessments

o Permit to Work

Continuous appreciation of the condition of safety instrumented systems and immediate response and implementation of necessary remedial action to operator alert alarms Routine inspection of plant areas during the shift Complying with all other current Health and Safety Legislation applicable

Experience

Experience of working with hazardous material, ideally in a manufacturing/process environment Proficiency in basic maths is essential for calculations related to chemical mixtures and measurements. Experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous, particularly with materials handling. A current FLT License is desirable, however not essential as training can be given
