SUMMARY OF ROLE


We currently have a vacancy in our Laboratory as a Chemist. This key position ensures the provision of robust formulations and processes and enables the production of goods meeting internal and external expectations, including safety and efficiency.

We are looking for a knowledgeable professional, who is proactive, diligent, flexible, able to work both independently and in a team, and provide expert advice when necessary.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY



Key Responsibilities:



Undertake project-based development work within defined parameters, including budget, performance, and specification, while maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation.

Validate and verify development formulations through appropriate testing methods, ensuring practical application and reliability of results.

Develop practical, semi-automated, or analytical test methods to validate product performance.

Research and source raw materials to meet R&D project requirements, liaising with suppliers as necessary.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical developments within the industry and relevant supplier markets.

Evaluate and assess new incoming raw materials for suitability and performance.

Adhere to company procedures for documentation and system traceability, including the maintenance of R&D records.

Support customer enquiries via email or phone, demonstrating product performance or application methods to customers and internal sales teams as required.

Contribute to marketing and sales initiatives by providing technical insights for the launch of new products.

Assist the Head of Technical with investigations into internal and external product quality issues.

Collaborate with production departments to ensure products can be manufactured safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Provide internal support for regulatory matters, including product registrations, certifications, waste management, and transport compliance.

Deliver advanced training for new staff, including instruction on the correct use and maintenance of laboratory and testing equipment.

SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES



Professional experience



GCSE Grades: A-C Maths, Science & English (Mandatory)

Literate in use of Excel & word for data management and reporting (Mandatory)

Attention to detail (Mandatory)

Team-work and the ability to build good working relationships (Mandatory)

Methodical (Mandatory)

Analytical (Mandatory)

BSc in a science-based subject, preferably chemistry (Mandatory)

Experience working within a laboratory environment (Mandatory)

Understanding of Data Integrity principles in accordance with ALCOA standards (Mandatory)

Experience using and maintaining manual, semi-automatic and analytical laboratory equipment (Mandatory)

Experience in the Industrial and Institutional cleaning products sector, ideally with a focus on laundry applications (Mandatory)

Higher qualifications in chemistry or biology related disciplines (Desirable)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 35,000.00-45,000.00 per year
