Purpose of the Role:
To deliver high-quality A-Level teaching in Chemistry fostering academic excellence, scientific curiosity, and preparing students for further education and careers in science and related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging A-Level Chemistry lessons in line with curriculum and exam board specifications.
Differentiate teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
Incorporate practical laboratory work to support theoretical knowledge and scientific enquiry.
Assess, record, and report on students' progress, providing regular feedback and support for improvement.
Student Support & Progress
Monitor student performance, attendance, and behaviour, intervening where necessary to ensure progress.
Support students in developing strong scientific, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Provide guidance for university applications, particularly for science, medicine, engineering, and related pathways.
Contribute to the academic and pastoral development of students.
Professional Responsibilities
Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and resource creation.
Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and training to enhance teaching practice.
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, welfare, and equality for all students.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Support enrichment activities, science clubs, trips, or events that enhance learning.
