Job Description

B Sharp is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into

its next chapter of growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a

small, dynamic charity based on the south coast of England, inspiring young

people's creativity, learning and community engagement through music.

As CEO, you'll set the direction for B Sharp, making sure we stay true to our vision

whilst ensuring operational excellence, financial stability and long-term impact.

You'll lead the organisation; build strong relationships with funders, partners and

stakeholders and lead a committed team delivering high quality music programmes

which make a difference to young people's lives.

Purpose of the Role



The CEO leads B Sharp's strategy, vision and overall direction. They are responsible for fundraising, business development, public engagement, brand building and communications, while ensuring operational sustainability and financial growth. The CEO oversees programme quality and impact, manages and develops the core staff team, and ensures that systems, processes and resources are in place to deliver B Sharp's mission.

Key Accountabilities



Leadership & Strategy



? Lead the strategic development and operational delivery of B Sharp's mission in

collaboration with staff and the Board.

? Promote B Sharp's vision and programmes, inspiring funders , audiences and

stakeholders.

? Build partnerships across the arts, education, community and cultural sectors.

Programme Quality & Impact



? Ensure the overall quality, innovation and impact of all programmes.

? Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting to demonstrate outcomes and inform

future development.

? Champion youth voice and inclusivity across the organisation.

Fundraising & Business Development



? Lead income generation through commissions, fundraising, grants, sponsorship,

partnerships and individual giving.

? Build and maintain strong relationships with funders and partners.

? Lead on bid writing, funder reporting and business development.

Communications & Brand



? Lead B Sharp's communications strategy, ensuring consistent, high-quality public

messaging.

? Represent B Sharp at public events, networking opportunities and in the media.

? Build B Sharp's profile and reputation locally, regionally and nationally.

People & Culture



? Manage, motivate and develop the core staff team.

? Foster an inclusive, collaborative and positive working culture.

? Ensure compliance with employment law, safeguarding, and health and safety

policies.

Finance & Governance



? Work with the Operations Manager and Treasurer to manage budgets, financial

performance and cash flow.

? Ensure compliance with charity and company law, reporting to the Board of Trustees.

? Oversee company assets and ensure the effective use of staffing and resources.

Person Specification



Essential



? Leadership or operational management experience in a charity, community or arts

organisation.

? Proven success in fundraising, bid writing and income generation.

? Strong understanding of financial management and reporting.

? Experience of overseeing programme delivery and evaluation.

? Excellent communication, influencing and networking skills.

? Strategic thinker with strong business development skills.

? Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams and stakeholders.

? Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and equality legislation.

? Flexible and resilient, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when required.

Desirable



? Experience of working with a Board of Trustees and charity governance.

? Knowledge of national cultural and educational policy.

? Understanding of issues around working in rural or coastal communities

? Experience of inclusive work with children and young people.

? Understanding of asset management (instruments, IT, facilities).
