We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chief Financial Officerto join our team. As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead Scissero's financial strategy and operations through its next stage of growth. This is a pivotal role combining day-to-day leadership; overseeing finance, reporting, and compliance - with forward-looking commercial strategy to prepare Scissero for private equity or other investment and rapid expansion.


You will partner closely with the CEO and COO to strengthen financial governance, optimise margins, and build a robust financial infrastructure capable of supporting scale. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in the boardroom presenting to investors and in the detail stress-testing financial models and budgets.



You will also be expected to operate hands-on within a small finance team, taking ownership of key deliverables and setting the tone for a high-performance, collaborative culture

Key Responsibilities




Strategic Financial Leadership

Partner with the CEO and executive team to define and execute Scissero's financial strategy, balancing growth investment with sustainable profitability. Lead the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Provide clear insight and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making across the business.

Private Equity Readiness & Fundraising

Develop and present investor-ready financial models and pitch-deck materials in collaboration with the CEO Lead financial due diligence, scenario modelling, and valuation analysis for PE investors. Build relationships with banks, advisors, and potential investors to support future funding rounds.
Financial Control & GovernanceOversee all accounting, audit, tax, and compliance functions, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting under UK GAAP. Maintain and improve internal controls, cashflow management, and working-capital efficiency. Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
Operational Finance ManagementSupervise the Finance Team and own day-to-day finance operations. Implement financial systems and processes to improve accuracy, automation, and reporting quality. Partner with department heads to track KPIs and ensure commercial accountability.
Performance Analysis & Business PartneringTranslate financial data into actionable insights for Sales, Product, and Operations teams. Lead scenario planning and stress testing of forecasts to guide strategic choices. Support pricing strategy, margin analysis, and cost-efficiency initiatives across the business.
Leadership & CultureEstablish a high-performance finance function that operates with integrity, transparency, and commercial acumen. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and C-suite team, contributing to wider company strategy and governance.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:



Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with 10+ years' post-qualification experience. Proven track record as CFO or Finance Director, or senior second-in-command to a CFO within a Fintech, SaaS, or Legal-Tech environment. Experience leading or preparing a company for Private Equity investment or acquisition. Strong technical understanding of financial reporting, controls, and UK statutory compliance. Demonstrated ability to build investor-grade models and present confidently to boards or external funders. Commercially minded with a data-driven approach to performance improvement and growth. Hands-on, pragmatic leader comfortable in a scaling, entrepreneurial organisation. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global/remote team.
