This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help shape a permanent, world-class investment institution for Wales.
With Government backing and FCA authorisation targeted for March 2026, WPP IM Co will operate to global standards with a Welsh purpose - combining professional excellence with a clear public mandate.

The role will provide both strategic oversight and hands-on execution support, helping to translate decisions into action and ensuring the CEO's agenda is delivered at pace.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly capable and ambitious professional with deep knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme and experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships. You may currently operate in senior roles within LGPS pooling, investment management, public finance, or pensions governance - ready to step into a central, high-impact position helping to build a new FCA-authorised investment company for Wales.
You will bring:

  • Deep understanding of the Local Government Pension Scheme and its governance structures.
  • Strong grasp of WPP's legacy operations, investment arrangements and external partnerships.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with senior officers, elected members and external stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of high-quality Board and committee materials.
This is a rare opportunity to work alongside the CEO in shaping a new, enduring institution for Wales - one that serves local government, pension scheme members and communities with professionalism, transparency and purpose.
