Safe Steps are looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced individual to manage our Child and Family Domestic Abuse Support Services in the City of Southend and Essex.
The ideal candidate will need to be highly motivated and committed to making a difference to the safety of children, young people, families and the promotion of healthy relationships.
Relevant experience of working with children is essential as is a knowledge of the domestic/sexual abuse sector, delivery of interventions to parents and substantial experience managing safeguarding. Experience of managing a team in a comparable sector would be an advantage. Safe Steps is committed to training and development and is prepared to invest in training the right candidate.

Purpose:
To lead the development and safe and effective delivery of a trauma-informed service for children, ensuring a whole family approach focusing on the strength and resilience of the family unit.
To lead on establishing, maintaining and further developing productive and collaborative strategic partnerships within the Children & Young People sector.
To work closely with the IDVA Services Managers, Safe Accommodation Manager and Recovery Services Manager to ensure seamless support to service-users, particularly those with complex/intersectional needs, as they move through our services.
To work as part of the Management Team with collective responsibility for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services; maintaining and promoting a positive culture which supports our organisational vision, mission and values; and building a strong reputation and awareness of the work of our organisation in the community.
Be a lead for child safeguarding, offering quality assurance and on-going learning to support the teams with completion of effective referrals and sustaining effective referral pathways. Attending relevant external meetings and representing the organisation locally and regionally.
